Build better neighbourhoods for everyone
Discover Rahul Mehta’s vision for Mississauga Ward 8, focusing on sustainable growth and community wellbeing.
Affordable Housing Cannot Wait
Build affordable housing, not luxury condos, starting on City land. Simplify approvals for gentle density that help seniors, students and new families live local. Strengthen standards for safety, accessibility, sustainability and tenant rights.
Build Transport Systems That Work
Develop bus rapid transit and signal priority on key corridors to ensure fast and frequent transit. Install traffic calming measures in all neighbourhoods. Upgrade walking and cycling networks without taking car lanes away to ensure safe streets for all.
Strong and Safe Communities
Create a Community Safety Plan to address the root causes of crime. Stabilize and diversify the police budget to ensure enforcement, crisis response, at-risk youth and social services are properly funded.

A thriving community that keeps getting better
I am so lucky to live here – the richness of cultures, people and businesses in Ward 8 are an enormous source of pride for me, and our future. Each connection we make, each story we share, and each vote we deliver, helps build a community where everyone feels welcome, safe and supported. Together, we can achieve our goals for creating a community where we can live, rest, play, study, work and grow. No more big donors, backroom deals or career politicians. Just hard-working everyday residents like you and me.
So meet that neighbour, stay a while!
